Dana White says Anderson Silva Closed to finished in the 185lbs division
Written by Kracker_Jap

Speaking to 5thround.com, Dana said:

“He’s probably two fights away from literally emptying out the middleweight division. But that’s great. I think in my opinion, that’s what makes fighters great. When there’s not another guy standing where people go, ‘What about him? He might win.’ When they’re all gone, then the guy moves up to the next weight class and does the same thing. I think that’s what makes guys legendary, fighters that people remember forever."

“I wouldn’t want to see [Silva] vacate the title until everybody’s gone...I’ll give you an example. Let’s say Vitor (Belfort) comes in, and Vitor has to fight Dan Henderson and (Nate) Marquardt, and he goes right in and knocks both of them out in the first round. Anderson vacated the title, and people go, ‘Oh, Vitor would have beat him.’ You annihilate everybody. You don’t leave a guy standing in the division, and then you move.”

If I was Anderson... just keep beating people... I'd say let Dan vs Nate fight BUT NOT to see who the #1 contender is, have Dan vs Nate JUST to see who gets a shot at Anderson FIRST,,,let Anderson keep beating everybody...but the one fight that intrigues me more than any other probably wont ever happen...

Gegard Mousoui vs Anderson at 185lbs... Gegard is obviously with Strikeforce anyway and also appearently done with MW as well.... too bad... I also liked the Vitor vs Gegard match-up that was talked about a few months ago...

Nor would I think he would want to vacate the title.. if his UFC contract wasn't hinged on the fact he holds that title.

Ima fan of [Silva] and definitely think he has what it takes to earn the title!!! He is a well-rounded MMA fighter and not to mention, he's a humble guy! I've never actually witnessed his training... but the guy is simply a BEAST in the ring of Middleweights!! If he fights through and win, I wouldn't want to see him vacate the title either! Dana, said it best!!!
